SEIBERT

Elizabeth "Betsey" SEIBERT (c.1747-bef 1830) was born in Bethel Twp., Berks Co., PA, daughter of Johan Wendel SEIBERT and Catherine ?. According to a variety of published sources, Elizabeth and her brother George were captured by the Indians in the mid 1750's and returned in the 1760's. To complicate matters, another Elizabeth, the daughter of Jacob, Wendell's brother, was captured and released at about the same time. Elizabeth, daughter of Wendel, was confirmed in Berks County in 1766.

Elizabeth may have first married ? GRAVES. Her second(?) husband, Benedict GROSSMAN, mentions a stepson John GRAVES in his will. By the 1790's, Elizabeth was the wife of Benedict as documented by deeds in Frederick County, MD, and York Co., PA. Benedict and Elizabeth were in Butler Co., PA, by 1797.
